Wayne,

Your on a good start at the gym and about to gain in a hole new world of gaining muscle on your frame. if your gym has a trainer I would seek out the trainer and get some advise on how to increace your muscles mass it will give a pretty good idea what your shooting for. a trainer will set you up with a good work out program to fit your needs and then you can take it from there as you progress. as a rule never measure you body parts as you work out it will some times give you a false pretense on how big you want your muscle to be at certain size at a certain time. as you work out you will start seeing some good size on you in a good 6 to 12 weeks of training. you will notice that your growing as your clothes start to feel a little tight on you. good luck with your prgroess and keep a record of what you do if possible that you have a camera take photos of your self as you progress .

good luck

Bruce

I can lift more with the major muscle groups (bench press, lat pull downs) and I look differently (I can see those pecs and lats now). I'm still a runner (marathon in seven weeks) and although I've redistributed my weight, I'm still skinny (still 140 lbs.) Soo, now I want to take this more seriously, but what should I be shooting for? Should my goal be to increase the weights I lift by a certain amount in a month say? To keep changing my measurements (I've never measured my biceps or chest etc.) or to add body weight? What are usually people's first bodybuilding goals?
